Shining at APM | Weichai's Series of Biofuel Engines Officially Launched

2026.03.25

On March 25, the 2026 Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) in Singapore opened. As a top-tier maritime professional exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, Weichai showcased its full range of diversified marine power solutions and heavily promoted its new B100 biofuel series, drawing the attention of key clients and agents from home and abroad.

B100 Biofuel Power

Setting a New Milestone

During the event, a ceremony was successfully held to mark the completion of the 1,000-hour sea trial of the B100 biofuel vessel powered by Weichai's core engines, witnessed by partners including Nanyang Technological University, the Singapore branch of the China Classification Society, and Pinnacle Marine. From project signing in 2024 to actual vessel launch in 2025, this is Singapore's first 1,000-hour sea trial project on an actual vessel powered by B100. The full-cycle validation provides demonstration and key data support for the industry to explore low-carbon fuel applications.

At the scene, Weichai officially released the B100 biofuel series products, which have obtained the Type Approval Certificate from the China Classification Society (CCS). The products optimize the fuel system according to biofuel characteristics, boasting advantages such as strong power, reliable durability, diverse fuel options, convenient maintenance, and environmental friendliness. Adapted to diverse application scenarios, it is a practical green fuel solution that provides a realistic path for the low-carbon and zero-carbon transition in the marine industry.

Multi-fuel Product Portfolio

Leading the New Green Future of Shipping

In addition to the B100 biofuel series, Weichai also showcased a multi-fuel product matrix covering the M/WH series, accurately matching the diverse needs of high-end yachts and mainstream shipping, attracting the attention of many guests.

In the exhibition area, three traditional energy power products, with high efficiency, reliability, green energy conservation, and good market reputation, together form the power support for Weichai's low-carbon energy transition. The WH20 heavy-fuel auxiliary engine meets mainstream shipping needs with high reliability; The 16M23 demonstrates ultimate performance for high-end yacht power; The 12M26.3 has become a high-sales model in Southeast Asia thanks to its outstanding performance.

Furthermore, the 6WH17 methanol engine is a forward-looking masterpiece showcasing Weichai's low-carbon energy technology. Featuring specialized methanol components, it resolves the industry's methanol corrosion challenge.

Weichai's marine power propulsion systems and power generation business have deeply cultivated the Southeast Asian market for over 50 years, winning widespread market recognition with reliable products and professional services, and extending its reach across the entire Asia-Pacific region. Looking ahead, Weichai will fully respond to the maritime industry's transition towards green, integrated, large-scale, and intelligent development, providing green power support for the global maritime sector.
