The 17th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Materials Machinery and Mining Machinery Exhibition and Technology Exchange Conference (BICES 2025) opened in Beijing on September 23.

At the event, a variety of fuels including diesel, methanol and natural gas, which embody the leading technological achievements of Weichai, as well as various routes of mining power including direct drive, pure electric and hybrid, were showcased. Weichai also unveiled its newly launched 12M25 mining power product on the spot. The 12M25 made a stunning debut

Weichai M series Mine Power is even more powerful

Weichai's newly launched 12M25 diesel engine made its debut at the show. As a new member of the M family, the Weichai 12M25 has a maximum power of 1224Ps and a maximum torque of 5116N·m, and is compatible with 90-100-ton mechanical transmission mining trucks, 165-ton excavators, etc. It has achieved all-round breakthroughs in reliability, power and economy.

With the launch of the 12M25, the Weichai M series of large-bore mining engine portfolio has been further refined based on the M33 and M55 platforms, marking that domestic mining power will further meet customers' demands for efficient operation and industry autonomy and controllability. At present, the power range of Weichai M series products covers 522-2800kW, which can be adapted to various large mining equipment such as mining trucks, mining excavators, bulldozers, loaders and drilling rigs. More than 2,000 mining trucks and excavators equipped with M33 and M55 series engines have been in operation, with the longest operating time exceeding 25,000 hours.

In addition to traditional mining products, Weichai also showcased a variety of low-carbon mining products such as non-road pure electric power batteries, WP17T/WP19 methanol engines, and WP16NG gas engines.

Among them, the CTB (Frame Integrated Technology) battery, which is used in pure electric loaders, excavators, mining trucks and other fields, has a capacity range of 300-1200 KWH and can provide customers with a more comprehensive battery capacity option. The product is based on the forward design concept of the whole machine layout, with a unique "4 or 6 layer" hierarchical modular design idea, which gets rid of the problems of difficult assembly and inconvenient maintenance of existing products in the industry, and also reduces the design cost of the whole machine. At present, Weichai has built a complete range of mine power battery products from standard boxes, single-pack high-capacity batteries to CTB batteries. Weichai's all-electric mining truck power has accumulated over 1 million hours of operation time, helping customers reduce operating costs by 66%.

A variety of low-carbon power sources such as methanol and gas engines for mining were also on display at the site. By integrating high-efficiency range extenders such as diesel engines, gas engines, methanol engines and high-ratio batteries, Weichai has formed a complete range extender hybrid product spectrum, providing a comprehensive solution for green mines.
