During the conference, Weichai placed a strong emphasis on green power solutions for inland waterway vessels, introducing its latest LNG, methanol, and battery-powered products. The company also shared in-depth insights into typical operating conditions of Yangtze River cargo vessels and offered expert recommendations for engine selection, sparking vibrant discussions on new pathways for the transformation of marine new energy technologies.

A signing ceremony was held on-site, during which Weichai secured bulk orders for 119.8-meter LNG-powered multipurpose vessel power systems and 68-meter LNG-powered general-purpose cargo and passenger vessel power systems, with power ratings ranging from 490 to 1,650 horsepower.

Currently, LNG, green methanol, green ammonia, and green hydrogen are regarded as the leading alternative fuels for achieving carbon reduction goals. In alignment with the green development vision, Weichai has established a comprehensive product lineup for high-speed engines powered by alternative fuels such as LNG and methanol. The company has achieved breakthrough results in the demonstration and application of single-fuel LNG engines using micro-pilot ignition technology. Weichai’s products now account for a significant share of contracts signed and vessel deliveries in the Yangtze River inland shipping market, making tangible strides in the development and application of new energy marine power systems. These efforts are accelerating energy efficiency improvements and supporting the broader push toward green shipping transformation.
