First Train Named! Ride the “Qilu No. 1” and Embrace Spring with Shandong Heavy Industry
2025.04.10At 9:16 a.m. on April 10, Train K8281 departed from Jinan Station, marking the official launch of the “Hospitable Shandong • Qilu No. 1” tourism train, the first of its kind to be named by Shandong Heavy Industry Group.
As the “Qilu No. 1” train journeys through the vibrant spring landscapes of Shandong, Shandong Heavy Industry brings the power of industrial design into the moving scenery, blending technological strength with aesthetic appeal. This initiative represents more than a scenic tour showcasing “Shandong Fine Products” across the mountains and seas—it is a profound dialogue between “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” and Shandong’s millennia-old cultural heritage. By lending its name to a provincial-level cultural tourism IP train, Shandong Heavy Industry closely aligns its brand with the “Hospitable Shandong” cultural tourism identity, creating a resonant symphony between industrial prowess and cultural richness. This move further elevates the brand image of Shandong Heavy Industry’s high-end equipment and allows travelers from all directions to experience the dynamic pulse of Chinese innovation amidst natural beauty.
The “Hospitable Shandong • Qilu No. 1” is recognized as the first provincial-level tourism train in China to be jointly driven by government leadership, railway-tourism integration, collaboration between railway operators and enterprises, and shared travel experiences. The train consists of 15 cars, including entertainment coaches, dining cars, hard seat cars, and both soft and hard sleeper coaches, providing a total of 666 seats and berths. Its operating routes include Train K8281 from Jinan to Zaozhuang West, Train K8282/3 from Zaozhuang West to Weihai, and Train K8286/7 from Weihai back to Jinan. These routes connect 11 cities, 22 stations, and over 200 scenic spots across Shandong Province. Passengers on this journey will be immersed in the splendor of traditional culture, natural landscapes, folk customs, ecological harmony, and heartfelt hospitality.
