Hard Power! Weichai's SOFC Product Achieves Success

2025.01.03

Since November 2024,

Weichai's commercial solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) product has achieved great success,

supporting multiple demonstration projects in the market.

This success contributes to national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals

while ensuring power supply security amid the energy transition and green development trends.

Successful Delivery of 25kW and 100kW SOFC Power Generation Systems

Promotes Coordinated Development of Local Diversified Energy Supplies

In November, Weichai delivered its 25kW SOFC power generation system to Shaanxi Gas Group, marking the first SOFC-based combined heat and power system demonstration project in western China. In December, Weichai successfully delivered its 100kW SOFC power generation system to State Power Investment Corporation Limited, marking China's first scenario-based SOFC distributed energy supply project for public health services and a significant milestone in SOFC commercialization.

This system reduces carbon emissions by over 30% compared to traditional natural gas generator sets. It plays a vital role in developing more efficient, low-carbon natural gas utilization methods and supporting the integration and coordinated development of distributed new energy, microgrids, and large power grids.

Weichai's Product Receives Prestigious Awards

and Earns Industry Recognition due to Outstanding Performance

Weichai's SOFC power generation system has obtained EU CE certification, with a net power generation efficiency exceeding 60% and a combined heat and power efficiency of 92.55%, setting a global benchmark. In 2024, it was recognized as one of the top 10 sci-tech innovation achievements of Shandong Province and won the Silver Prize at the National Machinery Industry Design Innovation Competition.

Looking ahead, Weichai will continue to prioritize both traditional and new energy sources to provide green, low-carbon solutions for energy transition and upgrading, maintaining its leadership in energy technology innovation.
