In the morning of February 8, Yantai City engaged in a discussion and exchange with Shandong Heavy Industry and Weichai Group. Jiang Cheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Yantai Municipal Committee, along with Tan Xuguang, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, Chairman of Weichai Group, and Chairman of Sinotruk Group, attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Deyan, Deputy Secretary of the Yantai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Yantai.

Jiang Cheng congratulated Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Weichai Group on their achievements over the past year. He highlighted that in 2023, Yantai achieved a gross regional product exceeding one trillion yuan, a significant milestone in the city's development history. He acknowledged that Yantai's high-quality development could not have been accomplished without the strong support of Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Weichai Group, with both sides achieving a series of important results in cooperation. As Yantai enters the inaugural year after reaching the trillion-yuan city status, the entire city is focused on the goal of becoming a central city in the Bohai Rim region, accelerating the creation of a green, low-carbon, high-quality development model city. Jiang Cheng expressed the hope that both parties would deepen pragmatic cooperation with greater intensity, work together to ensure the early completion and operation of the Weichai (Yantai) New Energy Power Industrial Park, leading and driving more supporting projects to quickly gather and diversify layouts in related sectors, achieving mutual progress and win-win development. The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will continue to provide high-quality services and create a favorable environment for enterprises to invest and develop in Yantai.

Tan Xuguang detailed the 2023 business operations of Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Weichai Group and thanked the Yantai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for their support. He stated that Shandong Heavy Industry Group would accelerate the improvement of its international and domestic dual-chain layout and strive to achieve a new leap in comprehensive strength. Resolutely considering Yantai as an important strategic partner, the group will fully leverage its resource advantages and industrial deployment capabilities, continuously intensify its industrial layout in Yantai, and push the cooperation between both parties to a higher level and standard.

Lin Yang, Secretary of the Fushan District Committee, introduced the progress of the Weichai New Energy Power Industrial Park project.
