Tan Xuguang: We Will Make Weichai Singapore a Financial and Trade Settlement Center in Southeast Asia

In the morning of July 20, 2023, Tan Xuguang paid a visit to Chee Hong Tat, Singapore's Acting Minister of Transport, Senior Minister of Political Affairs in the Ministry of Finance, and Chairman of the Shandong-Singapore Economic and Trade Council, for in-depth exchanges on international financial and trade cooperation space. In the afternoon, Tan Xuguang paid a visit to Deputy Director of Singapore Economic Development Board Ng Ming Liang, and the two sides had an in-depth discussion on the establishment of a Southeast Asian financial and trade settlement center in Singapore by Shandong Heavy Industry Group.

On July 21, Tan Xuguang visited Weichai Singapore Company, talked with local employees, listened to the work report, clarified the direction of Weichai's expansion of data center power business in Southeast Asia, and proposed that Shandong Heavy Industry Group should set up a financial trade settlement center in Singapore. After that, Tan Xuguang visited the new office address of Weichai Singapore Company and asked the Singapore-based business personnel of Shandong Heavy Industry Group to work at a unified office site, focus on overall management, and jointly explore the Southeast Asian market.

Tan Xuguang went to Penang, Malaysia to investigate the operation status of Weichai, Sinotruk, Shacman products in the market.

On July 22, Tan Xuguang went to Penang, Malaysia and had an in-depth discussion with Hong Seng Group on further promoting the cooperation on Weichai marine and power generation engines, Sinotruk and Shacman trucks.

Tan Xuguang said that we will fully rely on local advantages, and use Malaysia as the center to face the Southeast Asian market, establish a modern spare parts inventory center and training center with efficient operation, and continue to improve the service level. We hope to cooperate with Hong Seng Group to promote the integrated sales of heavy-duty trucks, mining trucks, construction machinery and other products, cooperate well, and constantly expand market shares together.
