Qingdao City and Shandong Heavy Industry Group Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement for Weichai (Qingdao) Smart Heavy Industry Manufacturing Center Project to Start

At 9:00 a.m. on September 25, 2022, Qingdao City and Shandong Heavy Industry Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement and Weichai (Qingdao) Smart Heavy Industry Manufacturing Center project launch were held in Qingdao West Coast Zone. Lu Zhiyuan, Deputy Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Ji Binchang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Qingdao Political Consultative Conference, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and Chairman of Weichai Group Tan Xuguang attended the event and witnessed the signing.

The Qingdao government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Heavy Industry Group, Qingdao West Coast Zone and Weichai Group signed a cooperation agreement on Weichai (Qingdao) Smart Heavy Industry Manufacturing Center Project, and Qingdao Free Trade Zone signed a Weichai high-end new energy vehicle incubation project with Weichai Group. The start of Weichai (Qingdao) Smart Heavy Industry Manufacturing Center project is another major investment of Shandong Heavy Industry Group in Qingdao following the implementation of the Weichai Power Global Future Technology R&D Center and Weichai (Qingdao) High-end Marine Equipment Manufacturing Center projects.

 

Tan Xuguang said that we will give full play to the advantages of global industrial resources, promote the project construction with the highest standard, the best quality and the fastest speed, make every effort to create another benchmark project for the old and new growth driver replacement, and build an advanced manufacturing industry along the coast of the Shandong Peninsula with Qingdao as the center. The cluster will add more powerful new impetus to the economic and social development of Qingdao and the construction of a strong province of advanced manufacturing industry.
