On the opening day of the exhibition, Weichai and Baudouin jointly unveiled the 6WH17 methanol engine, marking its official debut in the European market.

In response to global decarbonization in shipping and the accelerating adoption of alternative fuels, the 6WH17 methanol engine features specialized components that resolve industry-wide methanol corrosion challenges, delivering a compelling new power option for vessel operators while expanding Weichai and Baudouin"s footprint in alternative fuel marine solutions.

Five Technology Pathways Empowering Green Maritime

At the event, Weichai showcased flagship solutions across five key technology pathways—conventional diesel, heavy fuel oil (HFO), methanol, and electrification—offering diverse low-carbon propulsion options to meet varied vessel applications, power requirements, and increasingly stringent global emissions standards.

Highlights included the 6M21.3+SCR and 12M26.3+SCR marine engines, which integrate SCR aftertreatment systems to meet IMO Tier III emissions standards while supporting HVO renewable fuel; the WH20 HFO auxiliary generator set, engineered to provide dependable onboard power for large ocean-going merchant vessels; the M45 series, featuring advanced sequential turbocharging and control technology for superior low-load responsiveness in high-end yachts and large passenger vessels; and the H11 marine battery system, highlighting the company"s strategic deployment in marine electrification.
